![]() I would urge you to download trials of both desktop apps and invest some time into researching them. Much of what people like about OF (both really) has been posted here, so I don't think there's a great deal of value in me posting something lengthy about what I like about OF. I can enter tasks in the iPhone app when I'm on the move - and much more besides - but I tend to use that as my to-do list and for dumping things in as I think of them for organisation later. How so? I've looked at both and I honestly can't tell too much of a difference on the iOS apps Don't, think about what these tools need to do for you. However, like the OP, I thought about the cost first. I wish I'd not bothered with all the others, which all in some way need workarounds to get things working the way I like them. It's also lightweight enough that it doesn't get in the way of quickly entering data on the move or quickly checking what's on your list.įinally, OmniFocus has, by far, the best online support for tricks, tips and general configuration and other documentation.įor me, it was an investment. It really is very good, and the iPhone app also has a location feature so you can see what tasks apply to where you are at the time. Like I say, I've tried many but settled on OmniFocus. I love this combination since it's very, very flexible and suits my workflow perfectly Some think it's a steep learning curve, but it can be as complicated or as simple as you like. Remember the Milk (iPhone and online), lightweight, not suited to my workflow.ToodleDo (iPhone and online), very powerful, but confusing at first, and the iPhone app is fast but not a thing of beauty.Things (Mac trial), too lightweight for my needs, limited options for synching (wireless only last time I checked), but a lovely interface. ![]() ToDo (iPhone), they also now have an online service but I wouldn't bother as it's painful if you're trying to enter lots of data.It saves me so much time that it pays for itself very quickly. I don't buy into the argument that this software is expensive, personally. TL DR: OmniFocus is the clear leader and well worth the money. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc.
